It’s sad… I enjoy traveling, but never had to change to wonder very far from home. Build your own world map at World66. Take it as a challenge!…

In Rome…

Ξ December 10th, 2008 | → 0 Comments |
Event |, , , |

Last week was spent in Rome. First there was a meeting scheduled by the client, but after that there was a full day to visit the city. The concept of visiting a big city like Rome in a single day is quite strange, but time was scarse and we made the best of it.

There was time to visit the Colosseum, the St Peter’s Basilica and the Fontana di Trevi. The weather was lousy with lots of clouds and sometimes heavy rain, but here are some photos.

The expression in the title ends with ” …do as the romans”, but I suggest you don’t! At least in terms of traffic, please don’t do as the romans because they are simply crazy.

Virtual Visit

Next week I’ll be traveling to Rome. Yes, I’ll be working for most of the day, but I hope to have some free time to visit the city (or at least some parts of it). Looking for some online information on what the city has to offer I found a very nice photo album, here.

You can virtually visit the select location through a set of photos taken by others, but soon I’ll tell you if the actual places are as beautiful as they seem.

After some more searching I found that the idea has been used (researched?) in Microsoft® Live Labs to develop Photosynth.

Mom and Dad for a Week

This week has been just me and my daughter. Everything is going well and I think we could manage for another week without mom… before the house simply collapsed into itself.

I’m sure that mom has heard the distant cries of “Come back, we miss you so much!”… yes, from the other side of the Atlantic, all well long…

Also, I found a video that I would like to share with you. Very funny! Enjoy!

Yes, I already said some of those this week!!!

Walking

Walking is one of my favorite things… just stroll around with the family gives me great pleasure. Unfortunately, time doesn’t allows such pleasure during the week, and the weather hasn’t helped in the last few weekends, my strolls have been delayed until further notice. I’m hoping next weekend to visit one the Seven Wonders of Portugal (Castelo de Óbidos is one of the next locations to visit).

Along with the family, the other companion for these strolls is the camera. Here’s one example…
