Yes, this is YAPP (yet another python post) on my blog… Three in a row! Not that I’m counting…
This time is related to describe some interesting APIs available for python developers. A while ago I was making some experiments in order to develop a simple tool to upload my photos to my Picasa Web Album, and automatically also into my Experiment photoblog. Trying to use Java proved to be a pain in the ass! Now that I discovered Python, I again ready to give it a try.
After a first glance, here’s my findings:
So, I guess all I have to do is develop the GUI. The next move is try to use Glade-3 to do just that!
[UPDATE @ February 15th, 2009]
More interesting APIs available at any python installation near you:
Campinos are hard working men (from Ribatejo, Portugal) that work the cattle in the fields, also called Lezirias. My village has an annual traditional festival, in which they show the traditional ways of rounding up the cattle.
The long time since the last post doesn’t mean that the work is taking all my time… it just means that I’m on a well deserved vacations!
The first week was spent near the beach. Although the weather was usually cloudy during the morning, the afternoon always brought a very good hot sun. An excellent weather to enjoy the beach.
After the beach comes some rest, maybe interrupted with an occasional trip to an attraction nearby. I really need the rest… but, essencially it’s time for the family.
I usually use my own car to travel to work everyday. Unfortunately, the public transportation (the BUS, or as called in the province of this small Portugal, “carreira”) near my home is quite scarce, and I only tend to use them when strictly necessary. On the other side, I some times use the car to travel half the way and them take the train the rest of the way.
The last option has a lot of benefits. The first benefit is related with the smaller carbon footprint os using the train (instead of diesel “tank”*). Secondly, this kind of travelling provides with much more time for reading. And I love reading…
So, with don’t I use the train every single day? Because it takes me almost one hour a day more than when using the car.
* “tank” is the caring name I use to refer to my sweet old car!
