I saw a movie called “The Book of Eli”. I hadn’t heard about the movie before, so it seemed strange to find it so amazing. In a world destroyed by the war, some people are still moved by faith…
The movie has everything good about the book and adds so much more. The book is too irrational for my taste. I had seen the movie before, but nevertheless it was good to remember this master piece.
After reading the book, the movie had to be the seen. Thought the first was excellent, and was worried about the latter, but there were no disappointment there. Both have to be considered sci-fi master pieces.
During my last vacation, I had time to finish a great book. Ensaio sobre a Cegueira is an excellent bedside reading and a great companion for some nice vacations.
José Saramago’s [EN] novel was adapted to the big screen by Fernando Meirelles (the producer of one of my latest favorite ‘independent’ movies - Cidade dos Homens/City of Men). But it is still waiting to premier in Portugal.
Blindness was nominated for the Golden Palm (in the Canne’s Film Festival), and it will be worth the next trip to the theatre.
