Today I left work a little bit earlier than usual, before getting too dark to take a stroll around the village. Here’s one of the pictures I took…

This post is a statement of my complete addiction to TV series, specially the ones produces in north america. Currently, the focus of this addiction is mainly Lost, but that just because other series like House MD, Numbers, Criminal Minds, Dexter amongst other are on break.

The main reason to this addiction is the lack of interesting Portuguese productions. From my point of view, the national productions (known as “telenovelas”) are directed to a specific public, which include only the lonely old ladies and the brainless. [Sorry if this offends you, but it's my opinion. Sue me.]

The stupid aspect of it all is that, some Portuguese channels do show the series that interest me, but in schedules that are less than adequate! Sometimes, this series are shown well after 2 AM.

Indeed, the advent of BitTorrent is welcomed!

Last weekend included a journey into the wild forest… not exactly wild, but very beautiful! The following photos were taken in the Parque da Pena (Sintra). I also visited the interior of Palácio da Pena, but no photos were allowed inside.

The last week was very unproductive. None of the four or five posts evolved from mere drafts, and nothing that was scheduled was really finished.

Well!… Not everything thing was bad. Me and my girls went to the municipal swimming pool for a couple of hours, twice. The last time I’ve been in the water had been more than a year ago.

The first day, after a couple of laps (assuming it like a man, no more that 200 meters) the body started to feel a little back acke, which got even worse after a couple of dives from the starting blocks. All this effort, lead to a magnificent good nights sleep. The following day, we done it all over again.

It has been lots of fun. Hope to continue doing a few laps a week from now on.

Walking is one of my favorite things… just stroll around with the family gives me great pleasure. Unfortunately, time doesn’t allows such pleasure during the week, and the weather hasn’t helped in the last few weekends, my strolls have been delayed until further notice. I’m hoping next weekend to visit one the Seven Wonders of Portugal (Castelo de Óbidos is one of the next locations to visit).

Along with the family, the other companion for these strolls is the camera. Here’s one example…

Habits and Hobbies

Hobbies, Introspection |, |

Not a lot of hobbies become a habit to me. Most of my hobbies were mere infatuations for a given novelty. These infatuations have a wide scope, ranging from my stamps and marbles collections (currently stored in some box somewhere in the attic) to the several birds and fishes under my care along the years.

The change is a think that excites me, and so, the idea of creating a blog was an thought that didn’t connect as a hobbie. But…

There’s always a but, isn’t there?

But Introspection is becoming one of my favourite hobbies. It didn’t took as a habit yet, but it has very good prospects for the future, specially being so closely connected with my other hobby (or is it a habit?) which is computers and all related stuff.

It doesn’t matter how much hits or visitors read my texts, it’s all about the joy of having somewhere to put down my ideas. Several times a day my thoughts wonder to this or that subject and the way they should developed into the form of a post. Certainly, new material will never become a problem.
